Mummies are commonly featured in fantasy genres as an undead creature. Because "mum" is common English slang for "mother", the coincidental connection to this word is sometimes exploited for humour, as with The Three Stooges 1939 short, We Want Our Mummy, in which the boys search for the tomb of the fictional Egyptian Pharaoh, "King Rutentuten".
